Castlefield Rooms Wedding Photography – Olivia & Mike
Olivia and Mike opted to get married abroad and then have a celebration when they returned with all of their family and friends. And they chose The Castlefield Rooms in Manchester as their venue.
As busy, Manchester wedding photographers, we’re lucky enough to frequently return to capture wedding photography at Castlefield Rooms. We love their amazing contemporary spaces that unashamedly celebrate Manchester’s’ industrial heritage.
On the day, we caught up with Olivia who was getting ready at Hilltop Serviced Apartments. These light, contemporary apartments make the perfect setting for bridal preparations. And the apartment was spacious enough to accommodate Olivia, Olivia and Mike’s two beautiful daughters, Olivia’s mum Louise, Mike’s mum Janet, and Olivia’s friends Kris, Rebecca and Gemma. Also in attendance were make-up artist Frankie and us, the most unobtrusive wedding photographers in Manchester, there to capture those all-important bridal prep images. Everybody was in great spirits and it felt like the party had already started.
Olivia looked absolutely stunning in her dress that had a plunging neckline a a low back with a romantic ballgown skirt that gave her a fairy tale silhouette in all of our images. She teamed it with an elegant full length veil. She bought the dress at Ava Rose Bridal boutique, though it fitted her so perfectly it looked like it had been made with Olivia in mind.
Her hair was styled in an elegant updo held in place with a sparkling hair vine. Olivia was such a happy chilled out bride, which really set the tone for the celebration.
Experienced Castlefield Rooms wedding photographers
We must mention the girls because they looked so adorable in white tea-length ballroom dresses with matching sandals. And enjoyed having Frankie put a little bit of make up on them too!
Once ready, Olivia and her bridal party headed to The Castlefield Rooms for the reception. Where we caught up with Mike. Mike was looking very smart in a pink jacket, bow tie, black trousers and crisp white trainers. Pitching it just right for a city wedding look.
Now, we gave the girls a shout so now it’s the boys turn, Mike’s grooms party consisted of him, his dad Patrick, Olivia’s dad Philip, best man Ryan and groomsmen Leon, Rick and Dave.
With the family together, we took our chance to get some lovely family portraits of the four of them. As well as some great images of the wedding party. With the red brick graffitied walls making a great backdrop.
Storytelling wedding photography at Castlefield Rooms
As the wedding party went on ahead, we took Olivia and Mike off for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot around The Castlefield area. The images we got of them were so amazing they look like something out of professional bridal shoot. Here, take a look!
It’s always lovely to meet and work with other professionals in the wedding industry, and this was certainly the case working with Claudia of Afashionante Films who was there to capture the wedding film.
The wedding reception was held in The Castlefield Rooms impressive Merchant Room. Designed by Stephenson Bell Architects, this is a stunning, modern room with floor to ceiling windows that provide unparalleled views over Castlefield. It was the perfect setting for Olivia and Mike’s wedding reception.
The vibe was fantastically informal with guests happily mingling and sitting where they liked. Entertainment was in the form of a DJ playing chilled out tunes in the background, a fun photobooth (who doesn’t love a photobooth) and face painting for the children.

Natural and Creative Castlefield Rooms wedding photography
Speeches were lovely and were very well delivered by Mike, by Olivia’s dad Patrick and by best man Ryan. And very well received by everybody.
In the evening, hot food on small plates was served. These delicious treats were created by The Castlefield Rooms’ in-house chefs and went down a storm with everyone. There was also a live band provided by Exceed Events who had everybody on the dancefloor. Not that much coaxing was required, Olivia and Mike’s guests were definitely up for a party. And we even did a bit of celebrity spotting on the dancefloor as Olivia and Mike count actor/singer/ dancer Layton Williams amongst their loved ones.
We loved the dancefloor images we got of Olivia, Mike and their guests. They really capture the sheer joy of the wedding and were the perfect images to close the story of Olivia and Mike’s epic wedding celebration in Manchester.
A joyous family friendly wedding in Manchester, for this lovely fun couple. Congratulations to Olivia and Mark for getting married and creating such an amazing celebration for you and your family and friends to remember.
We hope our images will enable you to relive it again and again for many years to come.
