Perk of the Job: Getting to be Eshott Hall’s Wedding Photographer
We loved photographing Helena and Jason’s beautiful wedding at Eshott Hall in the heart of rural Northumberland. This grand manor house sits in its own private estate with ancient woodlands, endless lawns and a pretty and photogenic kitchen garden. A rural paradise that made the perfect location for Helena and Jason’s wedding.
On the day, we got there early so we could catch up with both the bride and the groom’s parties getting ready. That’s the great thing about there being two of us, we can literally be in two places at one time. Which was just as well, as the celebrations had started early with this lot!
Helena’s bridal part consisted of her mum Gail, Jason’s mum Alyson and bridesmaids Becky, Joey and Maudie. We loved the co-ordinated robes ladies! There was some medicinal bucks’ fizz on the go and Helena was in the safe hands of Aimee McKenry (of Lisa Jones hair and make-up)
We also caught up with Jason who was in good spirits with his groom’s party who consisted of his dad Nigel, best man Thomas and users Jack and Ryan.
Helena looked stunning in a gorgeous dress with a beautiful shoulder-skimming top and a pretty train and full veil giving her a gorgeous air of grandeur. We took an amazing image of Helena as she made her way down the impressive staircase of Eshott Hall’s Hall. Here, take a look! It looks like an image from a bridal magazine.
The ceremony was held in Eshott Hall’s Reading Room. This former Methodist Chapel is perfect for a wedding ceremony and is just a two-minute stroll down the estate’s main drive. Its light walls, wood floors and stunning stained-glass windows made the perfect backdrop for photographs. Jason and the boys walked from the main hall to the ceremony down the smart tree-lined drive and we got some great images of them.
After a gorgeous and intimate ceremony there was a fun confetti moment before everybody returned to the hall’s main courtyard and lawn for an elegant drinks and canapes reception. As everybody soaked up the sunshine and atmosphere, we took our chance to get some amazing portrait and group images on the lawn. Some formal and some candid, Helena,
Jason and their guests were so easy going and happy they were a joy to photograph. Some of the younger guests had blowing bubbles to play with. So were kept happy as well!
Helena and Jason’s wedding reception was held in Eshott Hall’s majestic ballroom. It’s a stunning room with crystal chandeliers, elegant period features and statement gilt mirrors that throw the light around the room (us Northumberland wedding photographers are total geeks when it comes to banging on about natural light!)
Everybody enjoyed a sumptuous wedding breakfast and there were some very funny, emotional and well-received speeches given by Nigel, Jason and Tom. As guests happily mingled back outside after the reception, we took Helena and Jason on another mini photoshoot around the gardens of Eshott Hall and got some really romantic portrait images of them. They are amongst our favourites of the day. Here, take a look!
Evening celebrations started with the cutting of a really elegant wedding cake before Helena and Jason enjoyed a romantic first dance to their favourite song ‘There will be time’ by Mumford and Sons. The live band ‘House of Sax’ who matched the perfect DJ with a live band were quick to fill the dancefloor with their dance anthems and it wasn’t long before there was some serious shape cutting going down.
A gorgeous intimate wedding full of love and laughter at a beautiful Northumberland wedding venue. Congratulations to Helena and Jason for getting married and thank you for allowing us to tell the story of your day with beautiful and timeless images.
