A Family Photoshoot in Hyde Park, Stockport

As a busy Manchester photographer, I always enjoy shooting a family photoshoot and this was certainly the case when I worked with the Gayatri family. As the family’s mum and sister were visiting from India the family wanted to create a special memory of their visit.

The Gayatri family chose Hyde Park in Stockport as their location. This serene and green oasis was the perfect setting for some family fun and made the perfect backdrop in all of our images. In addition to that, the sun shone for the mini photoshoot, which lasted just 30 minutes, giving me lots of natural light to play with.

We always love capturing families just being themselves. Long gone are the days of lined up families smiling awkwardly at the camera. We like to take images of families being themselves, relaxing, enjoying one another’s company and just having fun!

We took most of the images in Hyde Park’s Garden of Tranquillity which as part of a regeneration project, was designed around ideas rebirth and the celebration of life. So where better for three generations of the same family to enjoy an afternoon and capture some beautiful memories.

We also took some lovely photographs in Hyde Park’s Grade II listed bandstand which has a rich history and made the perfect backdrop in my images.

Taking the time to capture your family at a moment in time, with timeless and beautiful images, is always a wise move. After all, life is short and unpredictable and families (especially children) change and grow all the time. Stopping to capture these moments is such a precious and important thing to do. It also creates really special keepsakes for your children when they grow up.

It’s always tempting to keep yourselves out of the picture and just photograph the children but looking back your children will want to see images of themselves having fun and playing with you.

I really enjoyed the mini photoshoot with the Guyatri family. They were so laidback and a joy to work which showed through in the images I got, which were thrilled with.
