It was so lovely to meet up with Vicky and Sion for their family photoshoot at Walkden Gardens in Sale. We previously photographed their engagement and their wedding. It’s lovely when we build a bond with a couple that leads to us photographing all of the important moments of their lives.
At the wedding their son Noah was a baby, but he’s already three years old and now has a baby sister Alice, who is one, and just walking.
Walkden Gardens in Sale is 5 acres in size and was inspired by the famous 20th century garden at Hidcote Manor in Gloucestershire. It is characterised by long alleys with vistas, a series of smaller gardens rooms like the Japanese Garden and the Fuchsia Garden. It also has the impressive Theatre Lawn where people can enjoy outdoor productions and screenings.
Natural family photography in Sale
It’s the perfect location for a Cheshire family photoshoot. It’s always a good idea to invest in creating keepsakes when your family are young. Pre-school age children develop and grow so quickly so stopping to capture a snapshot in time is something families never regret.
This oasis in the heart of Sale was the perfect place for the family to unwind. The beautifully maintained gardens are surrounded by tall beech hedges and a wealth of different trees that do a great job of blocking out the noise of the traffic.
The children were a little shy at first but quickly relaxed into it and started to explore these enchanting gardens. We started with some great group images of the family in the botanical gardens, and followed this with a walk to the other attractions.
Creative and Natural Walkden Gardens family photographer
Relaxed children always means relaxed parents so I was able to capture the Davies family so rested, natural and relaxed. This resulted in images that I know they are really thrilled with.
And as you can see from these images, nothing looks posed or forced. I just captured a young family enjoying one another’s company.
I even managed to get some individual images of the children as well as some of them playing together and playing with mum and dad.
My favourite images of the day were the ones where the family all bundled on top of one another. The children found it hilarious wanting to do it again and again, and of course, it produced some of the best images of the day. Here take a look!
