On a bright June day, I met up with Victoria and Sam for a family photoshoot in their back garden in Wilmslow. It’s always lovely to meet new clients and I was introduced to the couple’s baby son Leo.
Choosing to do the family photoshoot in the family garden was a wise choice by Victoria and Sam as it is where Leo was most comfortable in familiar surroundings. Joining us on the photoshoot were Leo’s grandparents Tricia and Marcus giving Leo even more playmates!
Pre-school age children develop so quickly in the first few years so it’s always a good idea to take the time to invest in creating a keepsake.
Sam and Victoria just wanted to capture some natural images of the family interacting together as they would usually.
Beautiful Family Portrait photography in Cheshire
I always prefer a natural unposed look of a family just enjoying spending time together. I find that engaging children in play with their parents relaxes them, this in turn relaxes their parents and allow us to get authentic images that really capture the personalities and essence of the families I work with.
Leo had a great time. Having the photoshoot in the garden also meant he had all his favourite toys around him. I started by capturing some great images of him in his playhouse.
(I loved that I got his name written in chalk behind him) Here take a look!
We then set out a blanket picnic style and everybody sat down whilst Leo played with his favourite toys. There were some fun slide images with Grandma (and Leo’s favoured red car) before I captured some lovely portrait images with mum and dad.
Leo had some great toys but nothing quite beats the excitement of being swung around in the air by your parents.
I then brought Tricia and Marcus (grandma and grandad) in for some portrait images of them with Leo which looked great. By this time, Leo was really relaxed and enjoying himself so I got some lovely images with some cheeky smiles.
This was followed by some water play with mum and bubble blowing with dad! I hope all this resulted in a nap for Leo and a rest for Mum and Dad later in the day!
Creative family portrait photographer in Cheshire
I had a lovely time and managed to get some great images in both colour and black and white that I know Victoria and Sam are thrilled with. Images that they can treasure and then one day pass on to Leo.
