Lough Erne Northern Ireland

It was a joy to capture Lough Erne wedding photography for Gayle and Pete.  We always love a road trip so jumped at the chance to capture wedding photography in Northern Ireland.  Gayle and Pete chose the perfect venue for their autumn wedding.  Winner of Hotel of the Year, lough Erne Resort, is a luxurious 5-star hotel in Enniskillen.    

On the day we got there early to catch up with Gayle who was getting ready in Lough Erne’s beautiful bridal suite.  She was in high spirits and had her bridal party with her of her mum Debbie and bridesmaids Grace, Joanne and Lynn.  There were also two very sweet flower girls.  Gayle was also in the capable hands of make-up artist Catherine and Hair Stylist Devon.

As there’s two of us, we can be in two places at the same time, so as they girls got ready, we caught up with Pete and his grooms party who managed to fit in a cheeky game of golf on Lough Erne’s award-winning golf course. (It would’ve been rude not to!) Pete’s grooms party consisted of Pete, his dad Michael, best man Mark and groomsmen Thomas and Darragh.

The wedding ceremony was conducted in Lough Erne’s beautiful Ross Suite that has a stunning chandeliered ceiling, elegant grey wood panelling and ceiling to floor windows giving views of the serene lake outside and flooding the room with tons of natural light.  Which is one of the reasons why Lough Erne is a real favourite with wedding photographers in Northern Ireland.  There was musical accompaniment from the Ionian String Quartet.

After a beautiful ceremony guests enjoyed a drinks reception and I took Gayle and Peter around the beautiful grounds of Lough Erne for a romantic mini portrait photoshoot.  The weather was stunning for an Autumn wedding and a huge rainbow came out just as Gayle & Pete went out for photographs.  Gayle is mad about rainbows so we took it as a positive sign and the images we got were amongst our favourites of the day. After which Gayle and Pete were welcomed to their wedding reception with rapturous applause from their guests.  The Ross Suite looked amazing so we must give a mention to the very talented Aine McGirr who dressed it so beautifully.

Speeches were before dinner which is always best and they were really well received.  The speeches were made by Pete, his best man Mark, Gayle’s dad and Pete’s dad.  These were followed by a sumptuous wedding breakfast provided by Lough Erne’s in house team of talented chefs and catering staff.

Evening celebrations started outside with a fun sparkler serenade before Gayle and Pete took to the dancefloor for a romantic first dance to musical accompaniment by The Manouche Boys.  Once the dance was over there was a fun confetti moment on the dancefloor to signal the start of the party.  And with an impressive repertoire The Manouche Boy’s made sure the dancefloor stayed full all night.

A lovely family friendly fun wedding at a stunning wedding venue for this fun and laid-back pair.  Congratulations to Gayle and Pete for getting married and thank you for allowing us to tell the story of it.  We loved it!
