Rivington Pike Family Photoshoot
We loved meeting Laura, Matt and three-year-old Edward for their fun Rivington Pike family photoshoot. Laura and Matt were given our photoshoot voucher as a gift from a very thoughtful friend.
Laura and Matt chose Liverpool Castle at Rivington Pike for our photoshoot. They live in Accrington and we’re based in Manchester so it seemed the perfect mid-way point. It was also a perfect location for a family walk and a chance for young Edward to let off some steam.
We love photoshoots with pre-schoolers. At the age of three children have so much personality and energy and are developing so constantly that investing in a keepsake to remember the time is always a good idea.
Initially, Edward was a little shy but soon came out of his shell and loved the castle. He bought along his favourite toy – a soft dinosaur (something we always recommend) this kind of familiarity always relaxes children and Edward and his dinosaur were soon enjoying the adventure of the day together.
Beautiful Family Photography at Rivington Pike
We always prefer a natural unposed look of a family just enjoying spending time together. We find that engaging children with play with their parents relaxes them, this, in turn, relaxes their parents and allow us to get authentic images that really capture the personalities and essence of the families we work with.
We started with just a walk along the path through the ancient woodlands around the castle and we got some lovely natural images of the three of them. We loved the close-ups of Edward with his cheeky smile, the three of them snuggling in together and the images of them sitting on the log. Here, take a look!
We also took some images amongst the castle ruins and Edward enjoyed running ahead and finding all the different hiding places. We even got the chance to take a couple of lovely portrait images of just Laura and Matt.
It just felt like we were capturing a young family out for a Sunday walk. It was so laid back and natural. That’s what the right location can do and it’s why we’re always thrilled when we’re booked to capture Riverton Pike family photoshoots.

We had a lovely time with the Brown family and managed to get some really beautiful images in both colour and black and white that we know Laura and Matt are thrilled with. Images that they can treasure and then one day pass on to Edward.
