A winter wedding at The Church Inn Mobberley
One of the many things we love about being Cheshire wedding photographers, is getting to return to capture wedding photography at The Church Inn. Katie and Jonathan chose the perfect venue for their intimate wedding.
On the day we got there early and caught up with Katie who was getting ready at beautiful Hargraves House in Mobberley. Her and her bridal party were in great spirits and consisted of Katie, her mum Jak, her nana Stella, sister-in-law Rachael, maid of honour Thorunn, bridesmaids Amy, Sammie, Charlotte and Sarah and flower girls Evie and Thea. We got some lovely images of the bridal partying seeing the bride as she descended the stairs including a fantastic nana seeing the bride moment that melted all of our hearts.
Katie looked amazing in her dress that had a lovely veil and elegant off one shoulder style. Bridesmaids wore ultra-stylish black halter neck dresses which worked perfectly with the old school glamour style of the wedding.

There being two of us always allows us to literally be in two places at the same time so we were able to catch up with Johnny and his grooms party who were dressed and ready to go at The Church Inn and were greeting guests and treating themselves to a cheeky drink before walking to the ceremony. Johnny and his grooms party wore traditional black tie and looked amazing. The grooms party consisted of Johnny, his dad John, three, (yes count them three!) best men Tommy, Fray and Danny and ushers Michael and James.
The wedding ceremony was held at St Wilfrid’s Church in Mobberley. This historically rich grade I listed church has beautiful interiors that made a really photogenic backdrop in all of our images. After the ceremony we took our chance to get some lovely images outside the church, both romantic portraits and of guests greeting one another.
This was followed by a fun confetti moment under St Wilfred’s gorgeous open timber porch which we captured perfectly. Here, take a look!
The Church Inn is a five-minute walk from St Wilfred’s Church so the entire wedding party walked it. They made a glamorous sight for the residents of the sleepy village of Mobberley.
On arrival we took more images, having to stop the traffic to get the group images but it was so worth it as you can see below!
Storytelling Cheshire wedding photographers
The Church Inn laid on reception drinks for everybody and we captured some fantastic candid and informal images of everybody before they were seated. As it was an intimate wedding which allowed everybody to be seated at one table giving the wedding breakfast a really cosy and exclusive vibe.
Katie and Johnny were welcomed rapturously by their guests and the celebrations started with some lovely, funny and heartfelt speeches by Katie’s dad Will and by Johnny. After the speeches it was time to take our leave.
We loved capturing Katie and Johnny’s fun, intimate and glamorous wedding in Cheshire. Congratulations to you both and thank you for having us there to tell the story of your day. We loved it!
