Small but unique – just what they wanted
As experienced Cheshire wedding photographers, we always love returning to shoot wedding photography at Mottram Hall. Emily and Patrick chose the perfect Cheshire wedding venue for their winter wedding.
The wedding ceremony was held at St Vincent’s Church in the fashionable market town of Altringham. St Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church is a handsome church, built in 1905 in a striking red brick.
On the day, we got there early so we could catch up with Patrick and his groom’s party. They were in good spirits and as the weather was surprisingly bright for a December wedding, we were able to capture some lovely images of them outside the church. We also took some images of the other guests as they arrived.
St Vincent’s Church – Altrincham
Now I must talk about wedding ceremonies at St Vincent’s. This church has beautifully ornate interiors and tons of natural light (rare in churches) thrown in from the breathtakingly awe-inspiring stained-glass windows. It really is a majestic setting for a wedding ceremony and made the perfect backdrop in our images of Emily and Patrick.
After the ceremony there was a chance to get lots of fantastic photos. The confetti shots were fun as well as some romantic portrait images of Patrick and Emily and of the wedding party.
The formal group images on the steps at the entrance to St Vincent’s were amongst our favourites of the day. Here take a look!
Everybody then headed to Mottram Hall for the wedding reception. Yay! Now we get to talk about all the reasons why we love shooting Mottram Hall wedding photography. Let’s start by telling you a little about this premier Cheshire wedding venue. This beautiful Grade II listed Georgian Country House has opulent and stately interiors and is set within 270 acres of immaculately landscaped gardens. It has an 18-hole championship golf course, a recently renovated Champneys Spa and an AA rosette restaurant. Nobody wants to leave this place!
Small be beautiful
When we shoot wedding photography at Mottram Hall, we always love getting images of our couples around the grounds and getting romantic images in the rose garden and by the lake, although due to the weather and timings of their intimate wedding using the grounds wasn’t an option.
All decorated for Christmas, the inside Mottram Hall looked so elegant, cosy and magical. And as Emily and Patrick’s guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the bar, we quickly whisked them off for some romantic portrait images using the inside. We were thrilled with the images we got, here take a look.
The wedding reception began with Emily and Patrick entering to the rapturous applause of their guests. Things stayed spirited as the three speeches delivered by the father of the bride, the groom and the best man were emotional, funny and very well received.
Evening celebrations started with the cutting of a gorgeous three-tiered wedding cake. And it was this image that we chose to close the story of Emily and Patrick’s wedding day.
